The Mayo Clinic/University of Liverpool Virtual Conference on Clinical Pharmacology of Antiretrovirals and Antimycobacterials is a two half-day virtual conferences, designed for healthcare professionals faced with prescribing antiretroviral and antimycobacterial treatment in increasingly complex patients.

The conferences seek to improve patient treatment outcomes through educating participants on emerging topics in antiretroviral and antimycobacterial clinical management, especially in relation to clinical pharmacology (pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics), management of drug-drug interactions (DDIs) and complex patient cases. The first day focuses on clinical pharmacology of antiretrovirals with the second day focusing on clinical pharmacology of antimycobacterials. Both days feature a series of talks and case-based presentations from experts in the field, with lots of opportunities for involvement.

On the agenda:

  • Recently approved and pipeline ARVs: Applied pharmacology for clinicians
  • Let’s apply antiretroviral pharmacology in highly treatment-experienced patients to enhance care: A case-based discussion
  • Pharmacology pearls for managing absorption and swallowing difficulties: A case-based discussion
  • Pregnancy and postpartum: Applying antiretroviral pharmacology to enhance care
  • PK/PD of antituberculous drugs: What does a clinician need to know?
  • Managing antituberculous drug-drug interactions
  • Pharmacology of the nitroimidazoles, a new class of antituberculous drugs
  • Ultra-short TB treatment regimens
  • Evaluating cases of precision dosing with antituberculous therapy: Are we there yet?
