Editor's Review

BMI calculators abound in the iTunes store, so why choose this one from epocrates? Because it provides a lot more information than most of them do - including recommendations for treatment (diet, physical activity, behavior therapy) based on BMI as well as presence/absence of comorbidities; calculation of basal metabolic rate; and an algorithm for examination, treatment planning/goal setting, and ongoing monitoring. The result is a useful tool for assisting patients in making informed decisions about their weight and health.
