This study assessed whether surgical antibiotic prophylaxis (SAP) increased risk for antibiotic-resistant infections. There appeared no correlation between use of SAP and risk for postoperative antibiotic-resistant infections in a large cohort of patients with postoperative infections. Findings, thereby, reassured the use of surgical antibiotic prophylaxis.
