Researchers examined whether BNT162b2 (mRNA) COVID-19 (Pfizer-BioNTech) vaccination during pregnancy is associated with adverse outcomes at birth or early childhood.
A population-based study including a total of 24,288 singleton live births.
Newborns prenatally exposed and unexposed to maternal vaccination were noted to be at similar risks of preterm birth and small birth weight.
No association of maternal BNT162b2 vaccination in pregnancy was observed with detrimental outcomes to the offspring.
