The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Wake Forest School of Medicine is immediately seeking a qualified physician to fill a faculty position on the main campus at the Assistant Professor level.
Our department currently consists of ten MD faculty, nine physicist faculty and two radiation biology faculty. The Department is responsible for 8 eight linear accelerators across the main campus and 3 regional practices (which include a Varian TrueBeam, Elekta VERSA, Elekta Axesse and Elekta Infinity) and, a Gamma Knife center that delivers >500 treatments per year, a state-of-the-art dedicated brachytherapy suite, GE wide-bore CT simulator, PET/CT and 3T MRI scanners/simulators all located and staffed within the department. We are currently in the process of implementing Raysearch America’s RayStation Treatment Planning System; we also utilize GE AW workstations, MIM, MOSAIQ, ARIA, Pinnacle, Eclipse and Monaco treatment planning systems. The Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) of Wake Forest University is one of 41 NCI-designated CCC’s in the United States. The Department of Radiation Oncology is accredited by the ACR. We have four fully staffed clinical departments with six dosimetrists, twenty-one radiation therapists, and three simulation techs.
Duties include general clinical coverage and sub-specialty coverage in areas of clinical research. This position requires a well-trained individual who has excellent interpersonal skills, strong motivation in clinical radiation oncology and a desire to work in a dynamic environment.
