The theme: "Social Determinants of Mental Health."

APA's Annual Meeting, with ~ 300 educational sessions, courses covering ~ 50 topics and ~ 1,000 posters, is the premier psychiatry event of the year to get the latest in scientific advances and connect with colleagues. Focused on the most pressing issues facing psychiatric practice and patients, it is place to learn, discover and experience the best education in psychiatry.

This year’s meeting features a deep and timely discussion of the social determinants of mental health: the factors outside offices and within patients’ communities that influence the mind - from COVID-19, poor postpartum and racism to inequity. There will also be a new Clinical Updates Track with practical pearls of wisdom and a Research Track hosted by NIDA, with sessions from NIAAA and SAMHSA; and a special Technology Track to help participants stay up-to-date on clinical practice changes in pandemic times.

  • Apply quality improvement strategies to improve clinical care
  • Provide culturally competent care for diverse populations
